a short fan fiction story by Oluwatishe Elesinnla’s Blog
The TARDIS, the Doctor’s trusty time-traveling spaceship, was behaving strangely. It had been making strange, almost panicked sounds for the past few days, and the Doctor was growing increasingly concerned. As a woman of action, she decided to investigate the problem before it was too late.
“Come on, old girl,” she said, patting the TARDIS console. “What’s the matter? You’re not feeling sick, are you?”
The TARDIS beeped in response, and the Doctor listened intently. She interpreted the sounds as the TARDIS saying that it was just playing a prank on her, but the Doctor wasn’t convinced.
She decided to take the TARDIS out for a test flight, hoping to get to the bottom of things. But as soon as they were in flight, the TARDIS started to shake violently, and the Doctor struggled to keep it under control.
“What’s going on?” she shouted, trying to steady the ship. “Why are you doing this?”
She pulled out her sonic screwdriver in a hurry and just before she began a thorough scan, the TARDIS beeped again, and the Doctor interpreted it as the ship laughing at her. She felt a twinge of annoyance – this was no time for pranks!
But then, just as suddenly as it had started, the shaking stopped. The TARDIS beeped again, and the Doctor listened carefully. This time, she understood the sound as the TARDIS saying that it was sorry for scaring her and that everything was working perfectly fine.
The Doctor breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a little foolish for having been so worried. But she couldn’t help feeling grateful for the TARDIS – after all, it was more than just a machine to her. It was her home, her friend, and her companion on all her adventures through time and space.
“Well, then,” she said, patting the console affectionately. “Thanks for keeping me on my toes, old girl. Let’s go see what other surprises the universe has in store for us.”
